Two Boro players in the Championship Team of the Week
By Shaun • Sep 18th, 2009 • Category: Boro NewsMiddlesbrough's good early season form has seen them rewarded with two players in the Football League's team of the week.
Jeremie Aliadiere came off the bench at the Riverside to score a second half brace which got Boro back to winning ways. His two goals, a header and a neat finish into the corner of the net, made the points safe for Boro against Roy Keane's struggling Ipswich Town. He followed that up with another goal in the 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsbrough.
The other player included in the team is Gary O'Neil, who opened the scoring against Ipswich at the Riverside with a superb header and followed that up with a classy midfield performance against Sheff Wed.
To make it an even better week for Boro, new boy Sean St Ledger was included in the team. Sean St Ledger's superb defensive play against Swansea City at Deepdale helped Preston claim all three points to go fourth in the Championship.
