Tuncay voted Boro Mania man of the match for Liverpool game
By Shaun • Aug 26th, 2008 • Category: First TeamFor the second successive game Boro Mania readers have voted Tuncay Sanli as their man of the match. In what turned out to be a disappointing result for Boro fans in a largely encouraging display Tuncay shone out for his workrate and ability.
The Turkey international lit up the second half with a moment of individual skill that, had he finished it off, would have been a worthy winner of any goal of the season. Taking home a healthy 39% of the votes Tuncay now leads the race for the Boro Mania player of the season winning both Man of the Match awards so far.
Second place was a three-way tie between Gary O’Neil, David Wheater and Jeremie Aliadiere.

I voted for Turnbull as i thought he was excellent after being thrown in at short notice but Tuncay was good too and probably deserves it for that bit of skill alone.
I voted for Tuncay, he was fantastic and been our best player so far this season. Tuncay the new Juninho???
Tuncay is a fantastic talent and is technically a superb footballer but i think he has a way to go yet before we can compare him to the little fella
Boro Fan 1098 i thought Turnbull looked very solid too but my vote went to Tuncay. I was torn between him and Gary O’Neil.
My Vote went for the turk 2. Tuncay looks outstanding this season. You rarely see jamie carragher get totally dazzled like that he wasnt sure what day it was, tuncay needs to start knowing when to go down though, he should of gone down it was a clear cut penalty.
I still think tuncay should be drafted into our central midfield and we should give mido a run upfront along alves. tuncay looks very creative and will make a lot of runs from midfield, I think he will utilise the space in the middle of the park much better.
Yeah if he had of gone down, penalty and red card for Carragher. Saying that we were at Anfield so he’d have probably just been booked for diving
I’m not sure about putting him Centre Mid, i just think he lacks a bit of defensive discipline. I think he is best suited to a Juninho role behind the strikers
