Mido named Boro Mania man of the match against Yeovil
By Shaun • Aug 30th, 2008 • Category: First TeamDespite the speculation surrounding his future and a possibe move to Wigan, which has been rebuffed by Gareth Southgate and our own Ross Anderson, Egyptian striker Mido was voted Boro Mania man of the match for his performance against Yeovil Town in the Carling Cup.
Mido opened the scoring, his 3rd goal in as many games, and went on to complete the full 90 minutes looking fitter and sharper than he ever has in a Boro shirt.
My own personal vote went for the French midfielder Didier Digard who I thought was immense but fair play to Mido who did have a very good game and will, hopefully, look to extend his goalscoring streak against Stoke City today.
Who did you vote for?

I voted Digard too, thought he was terrific. Wonder how much the voting was swayed by the amount of visiting Wigan fans? Also note Riggott picked up votes, Stoke fans maybe
Digard got my vote. He needs to start playing regularly. I think the only reason mido got man of the match is because tuncvay wasnt playing. But midos goals must now surely give gareth a headache selection for a place upfront. who does he start. I would say on current form Tuncay and Mido, Who would agree?
If you go on form then Mido/Tuncay would get my vote. Alves will start today with Mido on the bench though and it’s a big game for Alves, he needs a goal really.
Yeah i think Alves will start today but only because Mido is being eased back in to get his match fitness up. I have a sneaky feeling he’ll come off the bench and get another goal today, he looked sharp in midweek.
