Boro defender Tony McMahon has extended his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday until November 15.

McMahon was initially brought in by Owls boss Brian Laws as cover for injury to Richard Hinds but the club have moved to extend his stay until the middle of November.

Owls manager Brian Laws was pleased with the extension, as he said:

We have agreed with Middlesbrough that Tony McMahon’s loan will be extended which is great news.

He has settled in really well and it is a positive move for us.

Tony has settled in well at Sheffield and we have had a number of positive reports on his performances, one report here after their match with Swansea.

  1. He’ll definately come back a better player from this. He needs a good run of games to get his match fitness.

Im sure when he returns to the team he’ll be mentally ready for the prem.
