Man of the match awards for Blackburn and City
By Shaun • Nov 2nd, 2008 • Category: First TeamWell the votes are in and we can now bring you a double header of man of the match awards.
The draw away at Blackburn was a good result for Middlesbrough and it was Tuncay Sanli's first game back after injury. The Turkish International came back in terrific style and put in another man of the match performace. Jeremie Aliadiere, who got my vote, came in second followed by goalscorer Afonso Alves and central defenders Riggott and Pogatetz.
The next game saw Robinho and his City team travel to the Riverside and leave empty handed as Boro came away 2-0 winners.
Only 2 players received votes for the award in this game. Despite losing 2-0 City had a number of chances and had it not been for Ross Turnbull they probably would've got at least a point for the game. Jeremie Aliadiere had another fantastic game but it was Turnbull who took the award and not for the first time this season.
