Leicester rumoured to be closing in on Boro keeper
By Shaun • May 9th, 2009 • Category: Boro NewsLeicester City are rumoured to be closing in on the free transfer signing of Middlesbrough goalkeeper Ross Turnbull. Turnbull has turned down a new contract offer from Boro, it is rumoured that Middlesbrough offered a basic salary much less than he was expecting to receive and that he is now looking to find a new club.
League One champions Leicester City will be competing in the Championship next season, as may Middlesbrough and they have made the signing of a new goalkeeper a priority.
Turnbull had a very good start to his Premier League career early this season but as the season wore on he began to make mistakes as he came under more pressure. I would be very disappointed to see Turnbull leave, particularly if we go down, I do not see Brad Jones as the permanent replacement for Mark Schwarzer.
