Jimmy Retires - What are your top Hasselbaink memories?
By Shaun • Sep 15th, 2008 • Category: Boro NewsJimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, the former Boro, Leeds and Chelsea striker, has announced hie retirement from football after deciding not to move to the Middle East for one last pay day. Jimmy left Cardiff at the end of last season and had a number of offers from teams in the Middle East but he turned them down and is said to be keen on going into coaching.
I've got a lot of time for Jimmy, a very good centre forward with a rocket of a shot, I feel proud to have seen him in a Boro shirt and wish him all the best for the future.
Here's a goal to appreciate from Jimmy, an absolutely unstoppable free kick against Man City:
What were your favourite Jimmy moments?

Loved Jimmy, one of my favourite Boro players of recent times. Best of luck.
I’ll never forget the night of the Basle game and Jimmy curling a great shot into the top corner
One of my fave memories is Jimmy putting a cracking header past the Roma keeper from a Stewy Downing cross, cueing chants of ‘Who are ya’ and followed by Roma fans pulling their scarfs over their faces and charging the away end. A few Italian police batons flew round to beat them back to their seats.
Gotta love Jimmy, right foot like a cannon, left wasn’t bad either!
That free kick against Citeh was brilliant
Good call Dan, was a superb header! Good luck Jimmy
What a dilemna. If we beat Arsenal, it gives the title to the scummers. Nevertheless Jimmy gets the chance and its 1-0 to Leeds.(I forget what year it was) Oh did you forget, Jimmy played most of his best football for Leeds not Boro or Chelsea. Shame he got greedy and buggered off, but he could be a bit stroppy. Fantastic striker.
It does actually mention Leeds above, most of the comments are Boro focused but this is a Boro site but what did you expect?
