Craddock can’t stop scoring as the reserves draw 2-2 with Everton
By Shaun • Oct 8th, 2008 • Category: Reserves & AcademyMiddlesbrough reserve striker Tom Craddock continued his fantastic form by following up his hat-trick against Sunderland and brace against Hull by scoring another two goals away to Everton reserves.
Everton named a strong reserve side which included James Vaughan and Victor Anichebe up front, Portuguese international Nuno Valente at left-back and former Boro goalkeeper Carlo Nash between the sticks.
Boro named a relatively young side with the only player with any real first team experience being Brad Jones in goal.
Boro got off to an awful start as in the opening minutes of the game a through ball from John Irving played in Anichebe. The Nigerian international’s shot was parried by Jones directly into the feet of Dan Gosling, who cooly hit the target from 10 yards.
James Vaughn doubled Everton’s lead when young Jose Baxter, held in very high regard by Everton, played James Vaughan through on goal and the young striker calmly rounded Jones and rolled the ball into the net.
Boro had to wait until the 70th minute to get back on terms as Craddock found space in the box and a great cross from Nathan Porritt was converted to half the deficit. The visitors were level a minute later when Marvin Emnes was pulled back in the box by Sinnott and Craddock stepped up to blast the resultant penalty home.
Craddock now has 7 goals in his last 3 reserve games.
Middlesbrough: Jones; Saiko (Shead 83), Hines (Corker, 67), Johnson, Bennett, Emnes, Walker, Smallwood, Cronesberry, Porritt, Craddock. Subs: Filler (gk); Gray, Martin.

Craddock really deserves a place in the first team squad but is he really going to make it at the club or is he another Danny Graham?
Prolific in reserves but ultimately not good enough for the Premiership, another Danny Graham i’m afraid. He’ll be at Carlisle or Hartlepool before too long.
good result for a very young team. Well done to Craddock on another couple of goals. There’s a lad there, Cronesberry, who has impressed me immensely when i’ve watched the reserves or U-18’s. Wisp of a lad with bright red hair but a very good, young player and definatley one for the future.
Shame about craddock…
I firmly believe Danny Graham could have made it in the prem, he wouldnt have been the next Michael Owen but i think he’d have got a good round sum of 10 goals, just your average prem player, however he’s really good in the lower leagues. I’ve got a mate who supports Carlisle and i take every oppertunity to see how Danny’s doing.
Craddock i dont think will ever cut it in the prem or the championship. I think he’s ultimately going to find himself playing in League One with Graham. Craddock was largely uneffective on loan for Hartlepool and looked well out of place.
We seem good at producing full backs, defenders, wingers and midfielders but we just havent been able to bring through a striker of the same quality.
