Cattermole: Wigan ‘a better team’ than Boro

Catts joined Wigan during the summer in a deal worth an inital £3.5m after finding his chances limited since breaking into the first team, and again finding his chances slim this season.
He was known for some controversy off the pitch being described as “not a nice person” from my friend who works at Gala Casino. Infact, it’s his love for the casino according to him, that saw him barred out on numerous occasions, throwing things in fits of rage and even being reported to have tried bribing the manager with match tickets to be allowed back in. Rumour also has it that he was threatened with being barred from every pub and club in Stockton, although the facts on that are unclear.
Hopefully it will be a new start for him in that respect, a new town and a new club where he can start fresh, but there’s obviously something in Wigan itself that’s clouding his mind, possibly the lack of Casino’s, or maybe he’s actually allowed in the bars down there, feeling a little tipsy. Infact, how many miles from Wigan is Birmingham? Maybe David Gold tried to hijack Wigan’s persuit of Cattermole, proceeded to speak to him and gave him a few funny jibes to attack Boro along with him as a parting gift.
I think it’s safe to say though that given Boro’s recent history, we’ve proven our credentials in 5 cup finals, two european campaigns and a trophy as the most successful club outside the top four in the past decade.
Credit where credit is due though, Wigan do have some good players this season, as do Boro, but as a team i think Boro are definately the better side.

to be fair he is only saying what he has to really. It wouldn’t look great to the fans if he came out and said i’m only moving to Wigan because i couldn’t get into the Boro team. I hope he can settle down and get on with his game at Wigan and wish the lad luck but Boro are a bigger team. Fair play to Wigan though they have improved this year and look like they’ve brought in a cracking player in Zaki.
Cattermole had his chance at Boro and he didn’t progress enough so he was sold, he hasn’t moved because Wigan are a bigger club but you can understand why he’s saying these things.
If Wigan are a better team how does cattermole get in it week in week out when he obviously left because he was 5th choice at the boro behind arca, digard, shawy and o’neil. i dont think theres any question. I like wigan, think they’ll do alright but if there team was as good as boros cattermole wouldnt be in it!
Yeah i agree with William, Catts was gonna be down the pecking order at Boro so he moved and is now getting his game at Wigan. Doesn’t make them a better team at all
Suppose he’s got to find some way of justifying his move.
