Young Middlesbrough goalkeeper Jason Steele has signed a new three year contract with the football club. To make it an even better week for the Bishop Auckland born stopper he has been called into the England Under-19 squad for the Elite Round Tournament, taking place in England between May 27th and the 1st of June.
The 18 year old goalkeeper is very highly rated at Middlesbrough and it is very good news to see him tied up with a 3 year contract, especially in light of the continued refusal of Ross Turnbull to sign a new contract at the club.
Steele and his England team mates will play Bosnia-Herzegovina at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium on Wednesday May 27, Slovakia at Bradford City's Coral Windows stadium on Friday May 29 and Scotland at Bramall Lane, the home of Sheffield United on Monday June 1.
